Our Service
We provide a service to promote the independence of the service users through Person Centred Planning to assist in their rehabilitation and encourage autonomy within the local community to develop the confidence needed for them to move on from 24 - hour care to independent living
All cases are assessed on their own merits but for clarification we consider individuals diagnosed with the following illnesses:
- All types of Schizophrenia- Personality Disorders
- All types of Depression and Anxiety
- Obsessive Compulsive Disorders
- Forensics
- Dual Diagnosis
At Approach Lodge we give considerable importance to the recruitment of our staff team who are chosen to ensure that we have nothing less than caring, empathic, educated, experienced and motivated team.
 | |  We have chosen staff with undergraduate degrees in psychology, students of psychology, mental health nursing, social work and those with NVQ2 and 3. All of our staff have a full week of induction and training in the following areas up to “Skills For Care” standards:
- Mental health awareness & Mental Capacity Act
- Food and hygiene
- Infection control and communicable diseases
- Health and safety
- Safeguarding Vulnerable Adults
- Aggression and Challenging behaviour
- Recording and report writing
- Person centred planning
- COSHH
We have also given considerable importance to the multicultural community within the area and recruited staff of different cultures, nationalities and religious beliefs who are bi-lingual and can communicate with the differing cultural needs of the service users.
